Company Experience And Track Record: RMT

Rainbow Moon Trading 136 has been involved with Working for Wetland project implementation of Working for Wetlands Rehabilitation in North West and Northern Cape. The company was appointed to train project managers on strategic planning and implementation of projects, defining time-frames, implementation and project close-out.

Rainbow Moon Trading 136 was also responsible for preparation of rehabilitation plans, annual project implementation plan, monitoring and supervision. Ensure necessary supply of material and equipment are available for the project, managing contractors and ensuring availability for site support.

Employment and training of community leaders as contractors, employment of beneficiaries one per household where there is no source of income. Training and skills transfer for beneficiaries to be employable in the market. The company was remunerated as per the contract management fee and no profit margin in this regard. The rates are pre determined by funder Department of Environmental Affairs. The Ministerial Determination was used to do Expanded Public Works Programme Employment Equity.

Rainbow Moon Trading was as well awarded a contract by Department of Mineral and Energy for construction and rehabilitation of closed mine shaft and the project implementation was completed in time and according to the requirements. RMT was as well awarded a contract by Department of Public Works to renovate and repair the Bapong tribal office for a period of twelve months and the project was completed successfully. We were as well supposed to use the Expanded Public Works Ministerial Determination for employment of beneficiaries. Community members were employed trained and skills to build and all other labour work transferred. We were doing renovations and repair that was painting, building, tiling and paving.

Implementation of Working for Wetlands rehabilitation projects in North West, namely Potchefstroom, Rustenburg, previously we implemented Kuruman and completed work and now we have started implementing Mareetsane in its place. We finalise our three year term in March 2014. RMT has been allocated another three year contract by SANBI(2014-2017) as this show that the company reputation has risen as our working profile was shown through commitment and hard work. RMT was sub-contracted by M Civil Construction for construction of v- drains and kerbs during road construction in Sunrise Park extension 9.10 and 11. The work was planned to be completed in November 2011 but we completed the work the first week of October 2011. RMT was sub-contracted by Wenhaus Contruction to lay pavement and v-drains at the construction of Sunrise Park Primary and High School. The school was completed in January 2013 and the project was a success.

The company and SANBI involve CETA for training of the beneficiaries for capacity building through accredited reputable skills programme provider to ensure that this enhances the beneficiaries’ knowledge and development to can be utilised in a broader market segmentation requirements. Training registers are provided and signed accordingly with a regular monitoring of facilitators during training to ensure that we retain value for money for the service acquired.

We report all the monthly activities and expenditure through payment schedule to explain the nature of acquisitions, employee, beneficiary wages to be paid through the bank to have pay sheets and salary advises to be signed once payment has been done to the beneficiaries. We then report on the SANBI systems the number of days paid per beneficiary through contractors, no of days worked, person days and deliverables completed.

The expenditure by item should liaise and run concurrently with the deliverables and management claims hence financial monitoring should be adhered to so money should not be depleted before deliverables are completed. We submit the reports and the bank statements to the provincial co-ordinator on a monthly basis for assessment and at the end of the financial year a reconciliation of all projects and budget has to be completed and approved. Then a completion and payments certificate will be issued to confirm that the project was completed successfully.

Rainbow Moon Trading as well worked for Afrox Brits to design a settling tank and surrounding wall, we did work in the MIG Plant to transform the plant into a room by backfilling all the trenches and concreting them. The project was started in July 2013 and completed in September 2013 whilst we were allocated four months to complete. We created a professional relationship with the client as they were impressed with our work performance.
